About the Author
Jason Scotts loves technology so when iOS programming was first launched he was eager to learn all that he could about it. As he started to learn more about the inner workings of the program, he started to see all the benefits that came with it and even some of the few shortcomings. The pros far outweighed the cons so he made the decision to spread the word on this technology. There are many programs that can be used to do quite a number of things but to date, as Jason has discovered. iOS programming is unique and stands out from the rest. He explains why in his text.

You Can Read The Whole Book During Your Lunch Break

Well to start with, the description is not a typo, this 'book' is actually only 38 pages and more resembles a pamphlet. Some of those pages have pictures on for no other reason than to fill up more space. The quality of the book itself is poor, the margins are not uniform, they taper like someone cut out the pages using a paper cutter from Staples. The Publisher Notes should have tipped me off to it being a bumpy ride when it starts "This publication is intended to provide helpful and informative material. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any health problem or condition..." - wait, what? This is not a medical book. From there things seem to head downhill. The typos are almost too much to bear, that at times you feel it has been Google-translated into English, I found myself focusing on the next typo instead of the content.
Anyway, onto the actual content. This is not (as the Amazon page listed it) a 2015 publication. When you open the first page, there is a (C)2013 which based on versions of software that are referred to, would be more accurate. With only 38 pages to fill, I felt that too much time was spent on describing the different versions of Xcode, however I did find some of the content useful like how Xcode works and how to put together an app (albeit too vague).
I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this book, but if you feel you must get it, then I think the 99c Kindle version is pitched about right price-wise. I have no doubt that the author is knowlegeable in the material, but knowing it and being able to convey it are 2 different things. Techies do not always make good trainers.

This is a simple book. There are many reviews here lowering the stars of the book but I'd give it a 4 stars because of the clear overviews. I'm assuming starting programmers would find this decently useful as it's not that complicated in terms of the structure of the chapters. It also discards going too far in depth in the language itself by diverting away from implicit descriptions. This author likes to go off in explicit terms and that's why it's basically 38 pages.
But otherwise, I received this product in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is an ebook that is meant to be a starter guide for those without any experience with iOS (iPhone / iPad) programming. The book is fairly short, coming in at a few dozen pages, so I guess it qualifies more as a booklet.
The book starts off with a section on the iOS SDK (Software Development Kit). There's a brief history of the SDK versions, ending with the iOS 7 SDK which came out in 2013. So the book is a little dated. If you have no experience at all with iOS programming, you might find this useful, however.
The second chapter is titled how to get started with programming, but then branches off onto a brief discussion of image filters and gesture swipes. I'm not sure what that has to do with getting started with programming. I guess if you are not familiar with the terms, you may learn a little about them.
Then there's a chapter on Xcode, the programming environment for writing apps. It is a brief history of the various Xcode versions, rather than a description about how to use Xcode
